Habitat For Humanity Volunteer Day a Huge Success!

Of the many Habitat for Humanity builds that I have been on over the years, this was one of the best in most every facet.
The team was a full 10… we did have a last-minute cancellation, but we had an alternate step in, and we didn’t missed a beat.

We had an equal split of men/women… usually, we have more women. The Habitat for Humanity staff was as organized and ready for us as ever. Even the weather cooperated. It felt ominous all morning but not a drop of rain fell.  And our reward for that was a very hot afternoon.

And because of all those factors, we produced (my opinion) more than we ever have… there is often a lot of “redo” work… and there was a little of that, but only a little…
I observed the team have a fun time as we got dirty, then sweaty and then in the end – accomplished.
We worked alongside a team of Roxbury Latin kids that blended well with us and demonstrated a maturity well beyond what I expected. Sorry, I am old… 🙂
I offer my huge thank you to the FUUSN crew who are all now veterans (some already were).  Here’s hoping to an equally great turnout next year. Maybe then, we will be putting on the finishing touches so the tenants can be moving in soon.
