2008 Summer Chime Series
Concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. Music will be played for about 45 minutes.

The public is invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic suppers to the church grounds. Listeners will be able to enjoy the music from throughout West Newton Square. The concerts will take place rain or shine, with indoor seating in the event of rain.
The chime consists of eleven bells ranging in weight from 575 pounds to 3,350 pounds, with a combined weight just shy of seven tons. Played regularly on Sunday mornings, the chime is operated by means of 11 hand levers.
Guest performer Gerald Martindale has served as Carillonneur of the historic Metropolitan United Church of Toronto since 1997. Mr. Martindale earned a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Windsor and holds Associate Diplomas in Organ from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and the Royal Canadian College of Organists. His carillon playing has been broadcast on several TV stations and recorded on 3 CDs produced by the Metropolitan United Church. Last summer he completed his 10th annual carillon concert tour of the United States, and has completed 3 concert tours of Europe.
Luca Antonucci, son of Lois Shapiro and Paul Antonucci of Watertown, is a 15-year old junior at Commonwealth School in Boston. Multi-faceted in his musical interests, including composition, piano and singing, Luca primarily focuses on the trumpet, both classical and jazz. He is a member of the Longy School Chamber Orchestra, the Commonwealth Jazz Band, and the Commonwealth Chorale.
Bob Feldman, a Framingham resident, works as a technical instructor for a local vision firm. He has been playing chimes for fun since he became a Cornell University Chimesmaster in a student competition in 1964. For the last four years, he has served as co-chairman of the Cornell Chimesmasters Alumni Council. He also sings in the Wellesley Choral Society.
